Program Objective

Upledger Health Science Essentials (UHSE) has been developed by London College of Osteopathy and Health Sciences for students and alumni of the Upledger Institute International, a world-leading provider of educational programs and training workshops in CranioSacral Therapy.

Comprised of two courses, Applied Anatomy and Physiology (80 study hours) and Pathology (15 study hours), the UHSE program is meant to build a solid foundation of essential academic knowledge to be applied in treatment settings as well as in any future medical studies.

With an interactive and highly visual approach, UHSE covers fundamentals of anatomy, physiology, and pathology through a series of comprehensive lessons, which include lecture recordings, video tutorials, downloadable presentation, online textbooks and communication with a course instructor.

Key features:

  • Comprehensive courses on anatomy, physiology and basic pathology
  • Fully interactive, with an activity section at the end of each chapter
  • Generous, full-color illustrations throughout
  • Communication with a course instructor
  • Online textbooks
  • Lifetime access to course updates
  • Certificate of Completion
  • 10% discount for Medallion Members

UHSE Program is comprised of two online courses:

Course 1.    Applied Anatomy and Physiology – 80 hours

Anatomy is the study of structures associated with the human body. Physiology is the study of the function of each of these structures. This course covers terminology, structure, function, and interdependence of the human body systems. Included is a study of cells, tissues, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, nervous, lymphatic, cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive systems. Particular emphasis is placed on the segmental anatomy of the spine.

Course 2.    Pathology – 15 hours

The course is an introduction to both general and regional pathology. The word pathology is derived from two Greek words, pathos meaning “disease or suffering” and logos meaning “study”. Hence, pathology is the study of diseases. In a section on general pathology, you will explore the reactions of cells and tissues to abnormal stimuli such as infection or trauma. In sections on regional pathology, you will study arthritic conditions most prevalent in our society.  In-depth review of the cervical pathologies, as well as causes of migraine headaches, is presented in the chapter of conditions affecting the head and the neck.
