About the author
RPE was developed by Marliese Steyn, a manual osteopath and Pilates instructor who applies knowledge of both disciplines in her successful osteopathic practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this course, Marliese shares her expertise in rehabilitative work on the Reformer, Mat, Combo Chair, and Cadillac through a series of video tutorials.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of RPE, you will:
- Understand the foundational principles of Classical Pilates and how they integrate into the ´recovery through movement´ concept.
- Become familiar with common health conditions frequently encountered in Pilates classes and associated with aging, trauma, and neurological disorders.
- Learn how to modify Pilates exercises to facilitate recovery and restore muscle imbalances caused by pathologies or injuries.
- Develop an individualized Pilates routine for special needs clients.
